Documents

The rules, the menu, what the children bring: written by the school, for the whole school or for some classes. Every change is a new version, and where it matters, each parent confirms they have read it.

The pictures are screens from the demo, a school of made-up children and parents, as the school's portal and the website show them today, on a computer and on a phone. The demo school's documents are in Greek.

Writes once, corrects with a new version

It starts from a blank page or a ready outline: a menu with the days of the week, a policy with a read confirmation, a list of what the children bring.
It writes as in a word processor: headings, bold, lists, alignment, links and pictures, such as a poster or a map. It pastes from Word, and the text keeps its structure. What it writes saves by itself, and parents see nothing before it is published.
It chooses who it is for: the whole school or some classes. A family of another class cannot open it, not even with its link.
On publishing it decides whether to tell the families now, and sees what they will read. For a new version it can write what changed.
A published version never changes. A correction is a new version, and every earlier one reads as parents read it then.
With a read confirmation: how many parents have confirmed, and who, with those who have not listed first. Each new version asks again, and it shows who had confirmed the one before.
When it is no longer needed it is archived: parents no longer see it, and it stays with its versions and confirmations. Only what was never published can be deleted. Publishing, archiving and deleting stay in the activity log.

Reads it, and says so

Under “Announcements”, in “School documents”: whatever is for the school or for their child's class. Those waiting for a confirmation say so on their row.
A document opens as a page, with its pictures, when it was published and which child it is for.
Where the school asks, they tap “I have read it”, and the time is kept. If the school has published a new version meanwhile, that one shows first: nobody confirms words they were not shown.
On a new version they see that they had confirmed the earlier one, what changed, and every version with its date.
If the school chose to tell families, the notice is under Notifications. Whoever has the app gets it on their phone too.

What it does not do

So you know what to expect before you start.

It does not upload files: No PDF or Word file is attached. The text is written or pasted into the page, and pictures go inside it.
One language per document: There is no Greek and English text of the same document. A school that wants both writes them on the same page or as two documents.
“I have read it” is not a signature: It keeps which parent tapped and when, for which version. It does not replace a form the law or the school wants signed.
The office writes them: Documents are in “My school”, which teachers do not have in the portal.
It sends no email: Parents learn of a new document under Notifications on the website, or on their phone if they have the app, when the school chooses to tell them.
