What's new

What changed in the school portal and on the parents' website, with the day each change went live. Only what already works is written here.

Changes to the phone apps are written here when the new version is in the stores.

  • Everyone

The website has help pages (how a parent is linked, invitations, a report from draft to sent, notifications) and this page.

  • Everyone

The page an invitation link opens named the wrong address to sign in at. It now says nepinest.com.

  • Parents

A parent with no child linked reads what to ask the school for: an invitation to the address of their account. It used to say to ask for an "approval", which does not exist.

  • Office

When an invitation email cannot be sent, or too many were sent in a short time, the portal says so in Greek as well as English, and a parent's invitation shows as waiting with "Send again" beside it. In full

  • Everyone

The "How a school starts" page said phone notifications carry no child's name. A report's notification carries the child's first name, and the page now says so.

  • Everyone

The demo offers five tasks to follow, such as sending a report or checking a transfer, and shows which steps are done.

  • Parents

On the website's Payments tab, a family that owes money sees "Already sent a transfer?" and tells the school the amount, the day and the bank's reference. The balance changes only when the school records the payment. In full

  • Office

Payments opens with the transfers parents have reported. "Record payment" opens the form filled in from the report, and "Not found" tells the family why. In full

  • Everyone

A family that has paid every past month and owes only a month that is not due yet is no longer shown as "Partial".

  • Office

"My school" and a family's QR card fit a phone screen.

  • Everyone

Signing in and signing up on the website are in English as well as Greek. There is a "Forgot password?" for parents and staff, and the reset email comes in the language of the page it was asked from.

  • Parents

A note the teacher wrote only in Greek did not reach the parent. It does now, with the signature the teacher has set. In full

  • Everyone

Greek greetings address a person in the vocative: «Καλημέρα, Γιώργο».

  • Staff

The pickup queue counts down the minutes the parent gave, instead of always showing the first number. In full

  • Office

The office's Menus screen showed every week empty, whatever had been saved. Fixed. The menus parents saw were right all along.

  • Office

The activity log shows people by name, finds a person by name or email, and counts a day as it is in Greece.

  • Staff

In Announcements, the buttons to pin and to manage other people's posts show only to those allowed. A post written only in Greek is no longer refused. In full

  • Parents

Today shows when the child arrived and left, and the same card opens the days of the month. In full

  • Parents

Every school event and closure has "Add to my calendar".

  • Parents

The child's photos by month, in a gallery opened from Today, with "Save" on each.

  • Staff

"Children not here yet": if the school sets a time in Settings, each class's teachers are told once which children have not arrived and have no absence reported. Parents are not told. In full

  • Staff

The pickup queue shows which parent said they are coming and who may collect the child, with their conditions. In full

  • Everyone

A class-chat message can be removed: staff remove any message in a chat they are in, a parent their own. A line saying it was removed stays in its place.

  • Everyone

An announcement changed after it was sent says "Edited". One that asked for confirmation asks again. In full

  • Office

A new school's home lists what is still to set up: classes, a teacher in every class, children, parents, contacts, the first report.

  • Staff

When two people change the same field of a draft report, the second save shows both values and asks which one stays. In full

  • Office

The school's export can include the report photos, as a separate download. The accountant export lists the charges as well as the payments.

  • Office

Payments marks, for 30 days, a family whose payment email was not delivered. In full

  • Everyone

An incident shows which parent confirmed it. The other parent reads "Seen by another parent".

  • Parents

The parent's pages are easier to read: darker greys and labels, in the light and the dark theme.

  • Office

A school can invite a parent who has no account: they make one from the invitation. The link lasts 7 days, the school chooses its language, sees which invitations nobody has answered, and sending again cancels the earlier link.

  • Parents

Parents who use only the website see incidents: a card on Today until it is confirmed, the full record, and "I've seen it".

  • Everyone

A meal nobody recorded is never shown as eaten: a blank shows "—". In full

  • Office

A payment or charge recorded by mistake can be voided, with a reason. It stays in the history, struck out. In full

  • Everyone

A second press after a lost answer no longer saves twice: one-off charges, announcements, broadcasts, calendar notices and class-chat messages.

  • Office

Moving or graduating a class shows first which children it affects. Graduating can stop the monthly charges of the children left in no class.

  • Office

A parent unlinked from their last child in a family no longer keeps a payment card that works.

  • Office

In the export, a voided payment's amount has a column of its own, so a sum counts only what was received.

  • Staff

Two-step sign-in for staff, in the portal: after the password, a code from an authenticator app, with ten recovery codes. It is optional, and each person turns it on for their own account. In full
